Ed's Thoughts

Have you ever noticed how easily we throw around superlatives in our language? Everyone’s product is the best, the lowest priced, the cleanest, the brightest, the most efficient. Sports events come around and almost annually there is a “game of the century.” I could use such hyperbole here when sharing my thoughts about First Community Church, but I won’t. I will simply and honestly offer these words of invitation. If you are looking for a faith community where people are truly welcomed, affirmed, and loved—then come and visit with us. If you are looking for a church where the worship is joyful, the commitment to love God and love neighbor is authentic—then come and visit with us. If you are looking for a place in which the stories of God’s Good News are shared and celebrated—come and visit with us. If you are looking for a community where you can belong and share your quest for meaning with others—come and visit us. First Community Church has been a progressive presence in the Metroplex for almost sixty years. It is a church with vision, courage, and an inclusive spirit. We would love to meet you and hear your story as we share our own. I hope that you come to meet us soon.
